Warsong Gulch

Well evidently nobody has uploaded any new data on me over the weekend. Over 1500 HK and level 28, I can only hope to score more honor in tonight before tomorrow's maintenence. I'll have to look up specifics on that. PvP Ranks. Private and Grunt are the lowest rank. Must gank more night elves... mmm. Sergeant.

Anyway, the main focus outside of Warsong has been going to Blackfathom Depths for Old Serra'kis. Trying to get Bite to drop but so far all we've gotten is 2x Thresher Cape and 1x the bands to drop. No wonder dinosaurs died out, they wouldn't give up their loot.

Heard from a friend that he finally picked up WoW as well, on Windrunner Alliance side. I told him to make an alt, Alliance sucks.

For the Horde!

Tijuana Flats

Home of the "Smack Me Sally" hot sauce. We've eaten before at Tijuana in Winter Park, FL a couple of years ago, so it prompted us to give the location here in the Jacksonville Beaches a try. Tijuana Flats is a unique vibe in every location, hail backs to 60's/70's popular art and artists. The ceiling tiles are hand painted with individual touches, and the Beaches one actually has an impressive wall mural.

No location is complete without the hotbar. This was our third visit in two weeks and a new tastebud killer was installed, vidallia peach. I knew better than to try, these people are professionals.

First go round we both were cautious with a couple of taco salads. Wasn't quite enough to get us full, but we were impressed with the quality and said we'd try it again. The tortilla chips were the most awesome ever. I made the mistake of a cheese quesadilla. I say mistake because I said nothing on the quesadilla, thinking nothing baked in it and they sent it to me totally naked. Bummer, won't do that again- these people take you seriously when you state your toppings so be sure to clarify. They also have very fresh jalepenos, so beware.

The second time he got a megajuana (mega, large, regular) burrito and chimichanga. It was a stuffer, the burrito easily trumps the Taco Bell grilled stuft burritos and SouthEast Burrito company. Too bad the Tijuana doens't offer the variety they do, like the vegan or medditerranian or fish and shrimp. There was easily a pound of chicken in the enchillada, it was muy excellante. The tosadas I got are basically loaded baked nachos.. I thought it wouldn't be enough food but I shouldn't have feared. It wasn't what I was expecting though- a box of their tortilla chips with melted cheese and all the toppings.

Third time was yesterday, we had the craving. He got a megajuana of both blackened chicken burrito and chimi, I got just plain chicken and their Tortilla Trio (Salsa, queso, and guacamole). He got so stuffed and swore never again to get that much food. There were enough chips left over I'm eating them with my lunch. By far, the best chips. Mmmmm.

Control the Night Elf Population

Waugh! I lost my pretty post! I hate the VPN connection we have to maintain here.

Lets see what I retained.

I was dinking around on warcraftrealms, since people with the mod have evidently spied me a couple of times. Created a user account to claim my common characters. Also created a nifty little sig with the generator they have on their site.

Nifty.

Don't really see the point in being vague with my own name, not like it is a PVP server... the only time crap like that happens is of my own volition. I don't see the point in talking about my old priest though, not exactly my main goal anymore. Won't play her that much unless they majorly cross up druids somehow. I doubt it though.

Around Wednesday I dinged while running Wailing Caverns with my hubby. The whole thing, signed, sealed, and delivered - fin` with three people. Even the escort. Which was a challenge considering how much stuff can pile on you in there. It has been a blur the past four days, I can't really remember if Mat was running that night with us or Xalt or both.. pretty sure it was Mat though since we did Warsong all together for the first time and Xalt cut out. All I remember was chain healing my husband while he did Verdan. I got Living Root but I shortly replaced it with the Crescent Staff.

Oh I remember, we ran it twice. Heh, once three man all the way and another four man for Xalt and after that was when we did Warsong.

Xalt, myself, and my hubby ran Shadowfang last night to the end, and only couldn't finish Arugal. Durn 26 elite, we'll wipe the floor with him come Sunday when Mat can play with us. Otherwise, we owned the place- I even dinged 24 shortly before Arugal. The loot was pretty trashy though, the Baron didn't drop the ring pointedly. :/
Did pick up these shoulders from Nandos and I think Commander dropped this shield which Xalt got since Mat wasn't on.

Currently resolved to do Warsong Gulch every night in an effort to hit 20% discount faction before level 40. That will make buying spells and abilities a lot cheaper. And repairs... I can't wait to see my rank this Tuesday.

So what about those Alliance eh? Ya'll really need to do something about dying faster those crazy almost hour long battles are a little nuts. Need to help some people out here I've got a deadline. Three battles in two hours. Speaking of crazy- those darn night elves are all over the place, it's a hazard. If night elves could be paladins, there would be no humans- just the odd dwarf priest or gnome warlock.

Spay or neuter your Night Elves! Decrease the litter and keep Azeroth beautiful! The zones and streets are over crowded with these unwanted and unloved animals. Thousands of manginas roaming and multiplying costs gamers everywhere pain and suffering. Nor can I explain the injustice of the /dance emote given to all other female races. Help your fellow gamer to not make a female night elf.

Kkthx.

Sixteen in Ragefire

Big news! 1.7 Patch on test server! Will post highlights after this one.

Last night for a while, Moonrunner was down for server hotfix. Meantime, I logged in Khadgar with my priest to check on my auctions. I was happy to see most of the items sold, if Moonrunner is ever down again I need to go back in Un'Goro and farm more yellow power crystals, they always seem to sell.

I forget what all I had up, it's been two or more days. The hide and red power crystal and a claw were the only things that didn't sell. All in all, I made ten gold, which probably accounts for seven in profit. Not terribly bad at all. I think a couple of the things were recipes that I had picked up.

Since I had the extra money and I don't think that she'll get the heavy play that I normally would put on her when I'm subscribed, I decided to hit 300 tailoring finally. I only had six points left to go. Figured that would be fairly easy since I had the cash and lots of leather to make runecloth gloves (four bolts runecloth, one rune thread and four rugged leather). One of the gloves failed to give me a point, leaving me two points shy. I had to borrow money from my husband to get more hide and runecloth as well as a couple felcloth. I hit 299 and was on the Menethil Dock to Auberdine when Moonrunner came up and my presence was demanded. Drat.

I'll be so mad if that last mooncloth I make doesnt make me 300 skill. Even when I do make it, I'll have to do a lot of collecting and auctioning. The Mooncloth robe pattern needs more runecloth (fairly easy), four mooncloth (got it), and two golden pearls.. which on my server sell for 15+ gold apiece. Ew. I have 1 silver now.

Back on Moonrunner, my husband was nice while I was at work and got me level 15, awww. =) I got off to a really slow start since I wasn't sure what would be the best way to level quickly so we could do Ragefire tonight. It took from 8:30 to midnight for me to ding. Most of the time sink was in the running around from Crossroads to Thunder Bluff for turn ins. The best quests were:

-Lost in Battle since I was in the area for the raptor nests which contributed to a lot of timesink
-Stolen Booty - despite dying a couple times this was still quick, especially since the graveyard was closeby. I couldn't resist the opportunity to kill the Baron and the third brigand was too much. I took down the Baron and the cannoneer with him so I was happy. Vengence.
-Altered Beings - once the spawn was broken up and I got the hang of the Kolkar rotation, this quest went fast and the turtles all dropped the piece. Nice.

So I finally dinged and I had
Testing Enemy Strength and the Satchel quest. All speed to Ogrimmar, which I had gone to before just before ding so I could get the flight path and the couple of quests. Didn't get to pick up the quests since it was insisted I ding so we could do this and get to bed. And I forgot to pick up Slaying the Beast and Hidden Enemies, but that one had prereq anywho. So I suppose I'll be doing it again, just sucks I forgot. Doing it with just my hubby and Xalt was fun once I got the hang of tanking via druid and Xalt adjusting to being the healer. Very efficient. =)

Need to get to Undercity/Sepulcher for a couple of turn ins and to pick up another Ragefire quest. Might as well since I need to do it again. Get these nice legs as reward.

General

* Switching weapons in combat triggers a 1 second global cooldown for all abilities for rogues and a 1.5 second global cooldown for everyone else.
* Tauren can now ride wolves if they learn the wolfriding ability.
* Possessed units (e.g. Mind Control, Eyes of the Beast etc...) can now cancel combat mode by clearing your current target. In addition, the UI will have a gold border when the possessed unit is actively in combat mode with the target.

* Damage absorption no longer protects against falling, drowning, or fatigue damage.
* If an attack deals non-physical damage, the type of damage is now reported in the combat log.
* Auras and shapeshift forms can be cancelled while you are fleeing or confused.
* Fixed bug where you couldn't right click to attack a hunter who is feigning death.

PvP

* Battlegrounds
o Battleground "holidays" have been added to Warsong Gulch, Alterac Valley and Arathi Basin. Holidays occur during most weekends, starting on Thursday night at midnight and continuing until Tuesday morning. During a holiday, emmissaries from that Battleground will be found in the major cities, and honor/faction rewards for performing objectives in that battleground are increased.
o Losers of Warsong Gulch are now given a "Ribbon of Sacrifice" which they may turn in to Captain Shatterspear or Sentinel Farsong for a faction reward.
o Offensive use of damage immunities no longer causes the flag to drop in Warsong Gulch.
o In the Battlegrounds, you will now automatically be resurrected by Spirit Healers unless you choose to decline.

Druids

* Improved Starfire - The stun effect can now be resisted.
* Druids should now be able to shapeshift back into caster form while Feared.

* Cat Form - Rake's damage has been increased.

Hunters

* Due to significant talent changes, Hunters will have all talent points refunded and can be respent. Training costs for all talent spell/ability replacements have been significantly reduced.
* Survival and Beast Master talent trees have undergone major revisions in an effort to give Hunters additional, viable choices when selecting talents.
* Deterrence - Will now increase parry chance when using Fist Weapons.
* Deflection - Will now increase parry chance when using Fist Weapons.
* Improved Concussive Shot - The stun effect can now be resisted.
* Trueshot Aura - Attack Power and Ranged Attack Power bonus increased, mana cost decreased, area of effect increased.

* Pet Abilities
o Hunters now have the first round of pet customization available. New passive abilities include increased armor, stamina, Fire resistance, Frost resistance, Nature resistance, Shadow resistance, and Arcane resistance.
o Hunter pets can now be untrained of all their skills from any beast trainer in the major cities. Similar to talents, untraining a specific pet scales up as you do it more times: 10 silver, 50 silver, 1 gold, 2 gold, 3 gold, etc., eventually stopping at 10 gold.
o Training point costs for all abilities have been rebalanced. You'll now be able to use all your pet's training points with meaningful choices. To help make "hunting" pets more viable in more situations, the Growl ability is now free to all pets.
o Bats, owls, and carrion birds can now learn the Screech ability, a fast single-target attack that also lowers the attack power of all enemies within melee range of the pet.
o Cats can now learn Stealth. In addition to being unseen, they receive a damage bonus for their first attack coming out of stealth.
o Scorpids can now learn Scorpid Poison. The poison deals Nature damage over time and stacks up to five times on a single enemy.
o Wolves can now learn Furious Howl. The howl adds a flat amount of damage to all nearby party member's next attack (within 15 yards).
* Hunter pets now gain experience based on the level difference between them and their target rather than the difference between the Hunters and their target. This will make it much easier to level up a low level pet. Keep in mind that the Hunter must still kill creatures from which he/she will gain experience.
* The tooltips for quick Hunter shots have been updated to show them as instant abilities.
* Feign death is no longer resisted by players.

* Shield Slam - Threat caused increased.
* Shoot Bow/Gun/Crossbow - Should no longer cause a global cooldown on all other abilities.

Items

* We have determined that the defense statistic was being applied to items too liberally, causing those items to be stronger than they should have been relative to other items of the same level with different effects. As a result, we have reduced the amount of defense points on all items with bonuses to defense by approximately 33% in order to bring those items in line with other similar items.
* Proficiency Bonuses have been added to the game. Some sets of equippable items have been added that will give bonus effects to the player only if they have a specific skill, such as Leatherworking.
* With the new ability to train Hunter pets with considerable magical resistance, the amount of pet resistance granted by the set bonuses for the Giantstalker's and Dragonstalker's has been reduced while the pet health granted has been increased.
* The Earthfury set bonus that increases the range of totems now works with the Mana Tide Totem.
* The Lawbringer Paladin Set's Healing Circle effect now only affects your party, but the range of the heal has been increased to 30 yds.
* The pants and gloves for the Dreadmist, Magister's and Devout sets have had their Agility removed, and other statistics slightly increased.
* Changing stances no longer removes the Orb of Deception effect.
* When you have more than one transformation aura (Orb of Deception, Noggenfogger, etc.), the last one applied is the one that is shown.
* Several of the Molten Core Epic Weapons have been updated with new weapon glows.
* Totems affected by the Earthfury set bonus no longer have their effect flicker when players are outside their normal radius.
* Fixed bug preventing several items, such as the Goblin Jumper Cables, from being gift wrapped.
* Fixed bug where equipping and unequipping set items and other items with the same bonus as the set bonus could reduce the affected stats twice until logout.
* There are now items in the game that have a duration on them that is measured in real time. For instance, there are fish that have a four-hour duration; they only last four hours regardless of whether or not the character is logged in.
* Alterac Valley Spring Water now has a minimum level of 55.
* The spirit buff from Bottled Alterac Spring Water should now work for shapeshifted druids.
* Hair should no longer stick through the Helm of Endless Rage.

Professions

* New crafted sets have been added that require reagents found only in Zul'Gurub or through the reputation gained from adventuring therein.
* The Mooncloth Robe pattern changed so it displays as white quality instead of blue since it is vendor purchased.
* The Effects of Flasks will now persist through death.

* Timbermaw Reputation Recipes are no longer sold in limited quanities with a restock time. If you have the reputation, you will always be able to buy the recipe.
* Significantly more Stranglekelp has started washing ashore to the beaches of the world.
* Enchanting an item with an enchantment that will cause the item to become soulbound will now prompt the enchanter with a warning message before the enchantment is cast.

Quest

* A great number of quests and events added to Zul'Gurub.
* A level 50 class quest has been added for the Rogue (Lord Ravenholdt in Ravenholdt Manor), Priest (Greta Mosshoof in Felwood), Mage (Archmage Xylem in Azshara), and Hunter (Ogtinc in Azshara).
* Reputation gains given to a player on the Alliance, Horde, or Steamwheedle Cartel factions directly will now cascade down to member factions through the middle of the Exalted reputation level.
* The amount of XP and Stormwind reputation has been increased for completing "Hilary's Necklace" quest.

User Interface

* New "Dressing Room" Interface now available! If you control-left click on any item, item reference (vendors, quests) or item link (chat), a UI panel will appear showing your character wearing that item. You can then use the same command (control-left click) on additional items to add to the preview appearance. In addition, the Auction House now has a checkbox in the upper right-hand corner; if checked, any item you click on within the Auction House will automatically be previewed on your character.
* Need Before Greed and Group Loot options have been improved. The rolling window that appears when an item of the threshold and above is looted now has three buttons: a Need button (the dice), a Greed button (the coin), and a close button. Any players who select Need will get a chance to roll first for the item, with the high roller winning. If no one selects Need, all characters who selected Greed will then roll, with the highest roll winning the item. If everyone closes the window, the item becomes lootable by anyone in the group.
* You can now disable the slow scrolling of text when you are receiving a new quest.

* Guild ranks and player notes are now filtered by the profanity filter.
* Quest rewards are now linked in chat like other items gained.
* You can now use the Escape key to exit out of pop up dialogues.
* Consumable items on the action bar will now always show the number remaining, even if there are none in your inventory.
* Pet spells in macros are now supported, both using /cast and using CastSpellByName().
* If you omit the rank of a spell in /cast or CastSpellByName(), it will use the highest rank of the spell which you know.

* Chat and Combat Logging
o The script functions ChatFrameLog() and ToggleCombatLogFileWrite() are obsolete.
o Added script function: isLogging=LoggingChat([newState]) (Returns new state (or current state if no argument))
o Added script function: isLogging=LoggingCombat([newState]) (Returns new state (or current state if no argument))
o New slash command /chatlog toggles chat logging (/combatlog toggles combat logging)

Constance

Things have come to a head last night like a pimple on the nose that you can't see because of binoccular vision.

Good news, I'm level 14.
I have lots of quests.
I need to do Ragefire.
I want to do it with my husband and would like to do it with my friends since they are for the greater part whom I trust to not do stupid things like over pulling and trying to play hero.

Problem. Not doable tonight since Mat has a class directly after work that would entail me not sleeping for 24 hours. Probably not friday or saturday either since Xalt has his normal D & D group on one/both of those days depending on when/if they switch out DMs. And that's an all night/day thing.

Horde is a different change of pace, but some of the beginning stuff is more annoying. So this is where three different schedules are not a good thing. I think we should have stayed on Khadgar and started over alliance side.

I want to have fun, not arrange schedules. And I don't want to have to negotiate between people- 'coming to a head'. "He did this and He just did this and I was in the middle of this wth?" was what it boiled down to. It kind of made all of it snap in focus. We're supposed to have fun, and something is getting in the way of it because no one seems happy.

I'm playing. Trying to level so we can get to the fun stuff, because pre-level 30 is pretty dull and routine.

I just want to pick a server and character and stay with it. All the switching is annoying.

Some Form of Progress

Didn't get very far last night I'm afraid. Made it to level 11, I was a little tired and I'm not sure if I made level 12. That would be in reference to my tauren druid.

She has bearform now, which was at first the sign of all uberness. Until I realized that more than two things the same level as me or greater still tore me up- just slower. I'll have to look up when I get more abilities, so far the taunt is only good for walking on top of a groupmate's mob and hitting the button. Anything farther off and you're wasting a two minute ability. The Maul feature is nice, I wish I had more like it. Quite a few times when I was sure that I would bite the bullet spamming this button saved my banana.

Humm, apparently I can train a few things that I didn't know about, like Demoralizing Roar. How did I miss that? Guess I get to hunt down a few people before I go tonight, I need to make more progress in leveling and I think having all my abilities will help. Don't ya think?

Looks like level 16 has my next big attack- Swipe. Can't wait for 20 and cat form.

Hmm, this chart looks fairly accurate for level/area ranges http://wow.allakhazam.com/Level_Chart.html

Change of Pace

I'm nearly 57 with my human priest, I'm pretty excited. She's also seven points away from having capped tailoring. I'm letting her get back up some of her rested atm. I don't know how my husband kept from hurting me during the pain we had in getting me up the the Marshal Windsor part of the Onyxia chain. Just need to get in a group and do the molten core piece and kill a couple guys for some information. Yay.

On a different server, I'm playing a tauren druid with my husband, Xalt, and Mat. Mat says he's going to get his wife to try and play. I'm surprised, and I wouldn't mind for there to be another woman around since the number of guys in this game more than supplant my low testosterone. At least he's being fair and says he'll let her run around and decide for herself what class she wants to play rather than guessing for her. I've seen how that works out. Not good.

Anyway, almost level 9 done in less than five hours of playing. I have no idea if that's fast and I don't really care, I just know these guys can set the devil's own pace when it comes to leveling. I can only imagine when they finally stopped last night... Mat is supposedly playing a warrior, Xalt a tauren shaman, and my husband is playing undead mage until we catch up to the orc hunter he already has.

Since Moonrunner is still fairly young, hopefully we have a good chance of getting in a good raiding guild this go round. The lag with our crappy internet is an annoyance, but hopefully we can get that straightened out. I'm prety happy right now with the gaming.

Lost & Found

Ok, found and didn't have to eat my own words. I am editing them though. Such a potty mouth in front of the boys... hehe.

In reference to Hero's Journey

OK in all honesty, I'm going one of two ways. Specifically, I'll go healer under two conditions. One, I can easily understand the mechanics they have involved. How they execute the main heal focus and the other abilities are going to make this a different style of playing than what I am familiar with on paper. Secondly, that going said route isn't a pain in my a-- and I like it.

If that doesn't pan out, screw it all I'm just going out and out damage dealing in whatever bad a-- way I can manage. Magic or melee, pwning things dead will be my absolute glee. And it will be relaxing and singlemindedly beautiful.

Musical Chairs

So we've done it again.

Quit City of Heros because they haven't kicked out the archer archetype off the beta servers for the entire month that we've been playing. And also because our friends haven't really been playing either. And the lag was constantly bad on the test server. Didn't really play on any of the others since the patch wasn't live. Last week was plainly hell so I didn't get to play at all. Whatever. I enjoy games, they can be switched in and out fairly easily all-in-all.

We're back to WoW. Supposedly there have been changes. For one, we picked a new server and we're playing Horde again. We had more fun when we first got the game and did horde on Llane with our dedicated group. I liked Khadgar mostly because that was the highest level character I've ever had. Was nice being able to run where I pleased and not really having to be troubled about things popping out of the blue to one-shot me.

We're on Moonrunner currently, under the impression it was a new server. New as in two months ago we found out. Not sure if the lack of the best ping in the world is because of our internet or the server. Joking around with an all-shaman group, but I dont' think it will last since it's not very serious to expect high-end junk to be good for a jack of all trades like the shaman. Hubby has a hunter kicking, and Mat has an undead priest. I'm seriously musing a warrior. Druid sounds good. But I'm pretty sure there is text somewhere on the internet about the next time I picked up an MMO.. it would be bloody.

How I Feel About Games

Recovered from guild forum topic What's In A Game

For as much as I hated trying to level in EQ, to a certain level, it challenged the player to learn and adapt to a lot of hazards. I hated in WoW when they would simply throw multiple mobs at you to make it hard to get to an area. I want to feel like I'm discovering new areas of land when I'm in a new zone.

I like PvP for the most part, but the honor system killed my love of that in WoW. It is a neat idea initially, that you can earn bragging points and new gear and titles.
But, before implementation, it seemed to be that the people who did participate in PvP were the ones doing it for the pure fun and roleplay or whatever they could get out of it. I'm mostly positive that the honor system introduced people solely interested in getting material gain only out of it were choking the fun out of it for other people.

Depite the problems of people wth different gear, levels, and classes, that wasn't what made the combat frustrating. It was the way the style of combat went from strategic melee ala Braveheart to line up in columns and rows to pull forward and pull back... like stupid colonial warfare.

I almost hate crafting now. Most of the stuff a crafter can make is not of any importance or lasting use to a player. Things that are useful are at the extreme top levels and have rediculous component requirements. I'm not just talking about WoW either.

I love being able to customize my character to the extremes of CoH. I hate how the instances in certain areas would randomly rotate the same maps and same mobs. The outdoor zones were always more fun. For all I bitched about it, I loved the Brickyard.

The only thing I really liked out of Horizons was their gathering and creating craft system. I hated the recipes and the pathing and lots to do with the game mechanics.. but the act of reaping flax, spinning it into thread, and carding it onto the loom to be weaved. Then cut into clothing. For some reason, crafting in WoW and EQ were really dull. Gather components. Insert into X container. Presto, Easy Bake Oven. With Time. Ick.

My favorite RPGs were Zelda: Ocarina, and Neverwinter Nights...they had lots of mini subplots and games, NPCs that have their own routines and speeches. You had choice to deviate from the main plots just for fun, not extra items or XP. I'd like to see more of that in MMOs. More creativity, less emphasis on time sinks and throwing harder/bigger mobs at players. It makes the game dumb.

Community is the thing that makes the multiplayer, otherwise you'd just be playing an rpg with a fee. So It's probably about half and half- the other part of the pie being the game design.

Crap is crap is crap. Hell, we all loved Horizons until we got to play it. Great community, but they f--d up the game in the end.
I'd try to balance out some great game that just had a sucky community... but I can't honestly list one since they all have their own gaping design flaws.

With that in mind- I hate how devs try to pat themselves on the back with the classification of "blah blah x power generation MMO". Not that many games are improving as far as mechanics and coding. Hell, it's an effort for anything original to happen in a game anymore. The only difference in games anymore is the upward climb to have better graphics, the latest shader technology, buying the biggest baddest game physics and rendering engiene. And only results in more hd/server/bandwidth space used, and the player paying more for the end product because he needs more RAM, a video card, and processor.

The collective game community needs to pull their heads out of their a--s and quit posting on fanboi forums how the farts smell good.

Food

Food is entertainment, didn't you know? You keep quiet when you're watching a movie or reading a book, and if you are eatting a good meal, you shut up then too.

Ted's Montana Grill 8/7/05

We come in about forty minutes after noon on the tails of the church-goers crowd. My husband and I had been yearning to come in for a couple of months with the tantilizing promises of buffalo meat on our minds. However, we had steered clear a little gun-shy of the pricing. For whatever odd mood that had hit us, we seized the moment, and it looked like getting seat would be impossible. The beautiful wood booths and walls were gorgeous dark planed and moulded wood polished to satin. The place reeked of being inviting and didn't have the clamour of most weekend places where alcohol is served.

The hostess proffered the bar, and a quick conference, we accepted since we'd get to see our food being made and also have the full attention of the two-person bar staff. We were quickly made at home with the famous half-sours (half-cured pickles still tasting mostly of cucumber) and the friendly banter of our server. We quickly decided on some salt and pepper onion rings for an appetizer... less than 3$. It took a lot longer to decide on food. Fortunately I can say the price range is on par with Applebees, Chilis, O'Charleys, and Ruby Tuesdays from Appetizers to Steaks.

Be aware though, I saw most of the soft drinks came from the can. No worries from us, we got waters. I smelled some fabulous lemonade, and they juice their own oranges for orange juice from a large juicer that at first glance resembles a meat grinder. Much like the implement I saw them turning potatoes into french fries for frying. The bar was quite comfortable and I would say that I would happily go there again rather than ask for a booth. It was really fun to watch and listen and joke with the staff.

Our server helped me decide on which burger to get (bison of course), since I plainly stated I wanted RED MEAT. The Kitchen Sink sans the mushrooms. Our waiter said hang on, he'd get our orders put in after our appetizer came out to avoid crowding the bar. I was a little peeved, thinking he'd forget. I should have known better.

Firstly, he was prompt and did get our orders put in just before the onion rings came over. Secondly, these onion rings kick the living daylights out of ALL OTHER COMERS. Seriously. Good crisp onion that you can cut with a fork and it not come stringing out like others. Not greasy. Also big enough to put on a seven year old girl's wrist. In addition, they were piled six inches high off the dinner plate they came in on. If that wasn't enough, they bring a generous bowl of horseradish sauce to dip them in. I hate horseradish sauce, it normally burns my mouth or tastes like mayo. I loved this stuff so much I daubed it over the top of every single onion ring and asked for it to go with my burger.

When our burgers came out, I was happy. This thing looked ready to ante up to the Ruby Tuesday's Ultimate Collasal burger. Half the size, twice the taste, and still huge. For one, this thing has ham that tastes BETTER than Honeybaked, a fried egg (wish I'd gotten it scrambled I don't like oozing yolks but it didn't make me sick- I did drain it to cut down on the mess **VERY MESSY), bacon, grilled onions, and the first burger, bison or no, that was well done, an inch thick, tasteful, stayed together, and wasn't burned. I only just finished it. It was massive. I had to take my fries home (Which since they are 100% potato and nothing else- eat well the next day with no heating or grainy taste).

I don't advise the ultimate skinny dip for the men, hubby of course being sensitive to most breads and food additives got his without the bun. It was still good, but he didn't get full. It was served with cottage cheese, I had a taste- very good but was too full. He had more onion rings. They were so good. They beat even Buffalo Wild Wings.

Our server boasted they twice ground their meats, and even sell the buffalo by the pound (current location at $6.23lb.). You've heard me extoll the benefits of buffalo- beef with the fat of a chicken and all the essential viatmins. Low fat and as healthy as red meat gets. I can see if we don't find our buffalo at Publix (can be hard to get in stock at times), I can see us darting here.

Believe their slogan, because they do- and it's the TRUTH:
Turn-of-the-century and made-from-scratch go hand-in-hand here. Everything is fresh-made when you order. No frozen food in a pouch. No microwave. And no pretense. We're serving classic American “comfort food” favorites

We got good service despite turning up in jeans and t-shirts at the bar. The food was great and the price was less than $24. I love this place and would advise it to anyone.
